Groundwater use in Türkiye is governed by Law No. 167 and administered by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ).
1. Exploration permit
Apply with the parcel title, intended use and location. DSİ evaluates the application against the regional water budget.
2. Drilling and records
Drilling is carried out by an authorised contractor; the well log, casing and screen details are recorded.
3. Usage permit
Apply for the usage permit with the pumping test results; the permit states the allowed abstraction.
